Marisol has represented employees in numerous cases involving disability, race, ethnicity, pregnancy, age, and religious discrimination, as well as sexual harassment and wage theft claims against some of the most well-known companies throughout California. Marisol’s experience combined with her unique background and commitment to her clients has led her to obtain successful results on behalf of clients against even the wealthiest and largest companies.
Between 2021-2023, Marisol was selected as “Rising Star” in employment litigation by Super Lawyers. This distinction is based on a peer review process and is awarded to only the top 2.5% of attorneys in the State of California for those under the age 40.
In addition to her legal experience, it is Marisol’s personal background that drives her commitment to her clients. Growing up in the Central Valley of California, Marisol witnessed firsthand her parents being taken advantage of by unscrupulous employers, who often refused to pay minimum wage and overtime, despite the fact that her parents earned those wages after long days with grueling labor. As a result, Marisol knew she wanted to represent employees even before entering law school. This experience propelled her, and continues to propel her, to be a zealous advocate for workers.
Since 2015, Marisol has dedicated her career to representing workers in employment disputes. Before starting her own firm, Marisol worked at several local law firms focusing solely on employment litigation where she gained substantial experience in all aspects of litigation. Marisol has represented employees in single-plaintiff lawsuits as well as class actions and representative actions (e.g., Private Attorneys General Act, “PAGA”).
While attending law school, Marisol was a member of Law Review, and she served as Executive Editor for the International Law Journal. Marisol also volunteered at Casa Cornelia Law Center where she advocated for victims of human trafficking and received the organization’s Special Recognition Award for her work.
Prior to attending law school, Marisol interned at the Office of the Attorney General’s Licensing Division where she gained knowledge and experience regarding the administrative process for denial and discipline of licensees before state boards and agencies. Additionally, Marisol was a fellow for a California Assemblymember. Her role included coordinating hearings for the Assembly Select Committee on Workforce and Vocational Development and assisting in the process of passing legislative bills. This experience provided Marisol with first-hand knowledge of the legislative process and public policy formation, which she still relies on to this day.
